A vast rocky landscape stretches out as far as one can see. A subtle breeze looms in the air as a sun begins to set. Peaceful, tranquil, no animal to be seen nor any human for that matter. Then, a boom sounds throughout the atmosphere and a lone small spacecraft descends from the heavens. It flies about, as if searching, unsure of its own destination. It then lurches into its maximum speed in one direction, perhaps its found what it's looking for. Once near its destination it begins to slow so it can land. Gently and with precision it lands flawlessly, and the top hatch opens revealing a lone pilot with a robot companion. The pilot exits his craft along with his robotic friend, and they both begin walking. Soon they come upon to what appears to be a lone settlement among the rocky landscape. They both halt and admire their discovery, perhaps this is what they’ve been searching for. After standing atop a small ledge overlooking the settlement a woman emerges from one of the shelters. Still, the pilot and his friend stand atop their perch, perhaps awaiting a response from the woman down below. The woman, who must’ve been living alone, suddenly bursts into a sprint towards her visitors. Shortly after she’s begun her sprint another robotic companion emerges from the same shelter; not unlike the one who’s accompanying the pilot. The pilot and his robot turn to go and meet with the desperately running woman.
In just a few moments the pilot and the woman stand face to face. Both silent, both in tears, both in love. The robotic companions of each party join their humans in this silent greeting session. Slowly the pilot removes his helmet revealing his true identity to the woman, who is shocked beyond description. She embraces the pilot with absolute affection and love. For it was love that had brought these two individuals across galaxies, it was love that fueled their perseverance, it was love that had saved them, even though they could not fully understand it yet.
While embracing, the woman utters a phrase filled with passion and a sense of restored hopefulness, “Oh Cooper.”
