Vis was born on Novus, as was every Pioneer. Every Novusion was taught of Earth, but when it came to the finer details much was kept from the Novus born humans.
“They need not trouble themselves with the study of such a corrupt society. Not until their minds have matured.” - Judge Eisen.
When the time came for him to be bound to his Chosen, he, and most of the other Pioneers, hadn’t yet aged twenty earth years. As a boy he built a reputation by the use of his whits to cause mischief among his classmates. He found amusement in learning someone’s personality, and then using that knowledge to plant seeds. With carefully chosen words he would insight children to turn on their friends, and then sit back and watch the chaos unfold. Whether that chaos would involve fist fights or accusations, he would always remain on the sidelines; watching from afar.
As he matured, he was selected to enter the study of psychology; based upon multiple tests and years of monitoring from his teachers. It was clear his talents would best be utilized in this academic field. However, his skills would not be used to necessarily help people with their psychological problems. No, his talents were rather put to use by the Court of Twelve as an investigator. At the time there were whispers of discord and strife among the people of Novus. From the start, there were those who were opposed to the ideology the colony was so quick to adopt, even before they launched from Earth. These groups of people were concerned with their leaders’ hostile opinion of Earth. They did not care for the constant verbal attacks they made in their speeches and day to day lives. By the time Vis was a young adult, talks of military action against the people of Earth began. Not just in the streets, but in the Court of Twelve itself. Perhaps this was the final confirmation that the “Earth lovers” needed, for action was taken not long after.
The first action taken by this new faction, who named themselves the Peacemakers, was a formal protest. Laborers, scientists, teachers, and some members of the lesser courts refused to contribute any more of their labor to the colony until talks of militarization ceased. In response, the Court of Twelve added one final seat to their court, thus making them the Court of Thirteen. The judge chosen to fill this seat was the captain of the Harbinger, William Strong. He was appointed the rank of Fleet Admiral, and named the protector of Novus. The Peacemakers took this as a sign to go into hiding, and from then on only met in secret.
Vis came into the picture when he was recruited by the Court of Thirteen to become their spy. He was to infiltrate the Peacemaker inner circle, and remain a loyal member in their eyes only to exploit their trust. Vis was a natural, his soft voice lended him an edge in every conversation, and one by one he carefully exposed the leaders of the Peacemakers. He was unable to fool the final leader to be ousted, who escaped into the shadows.
When the Extradimensionals made contact through Aiden Mar, and offered to create an alliance through what would become the Pioneer Order; Vis was among the first to be chosen. He had proven useful for such a young man, and this would only elevate his usefulness to godhood. The Extradimensionals ended up choosing him for his compatibility with the one known as Azayam, The Seer of Thoughts. His bond with Azayam became stronger than any other in the Pioneer Order, for they were one in the same. Both were skilled in the art of deception and trickery, and together they would become nearly unstoppable in the looming conflict ahead.
